A Murder Mystery Puzzle Series

One Namein the Crowd

50,000 names. 20 clues. One killer. No guessing — just deduction.

The Case

Fifty thousand names.
One of them is guilty.

Detective Elara Quill has worked strange scenes before, but never one like this. Beside the body: fifty thousand first names, stacked edge to edge, with no surnames, no addresses, and no explanation. Beneath the last stack, three words on the blotter — ONE OF THEM.

Twenty statements were recovered from the room. Every one of them is true. Together, they narrow fifty thousand possibilities down to exactly one name — the killer's. Nothing outside the book is required to solve it. The list, the clues, and the glossary are the entire case.

Your job is the same as Quill's: start crossing people out.

Evidence Log — 03:17 A.M.

"Lists become exact only when someone intends them to be."

How It Works

Three steps. No guessing.

Every case in the series runs on the same method — only the names, the clues, and the killer change.

01

Read the names

Each case prints thousands of first names across dozens of chapters, organized by page and position — every detail is part of the puzzle.

02

Apply the clues

Twenty statements, all true, each one eliminating names, pages, or entire chapters. Some clues cut deep. Others only matter once combined.

03

Submit your answer

Think you've found the one name that survives all twenty clues? Submit it below to check your answer and unlock hints if you're stuck.

The Series

The cases

Every case is a self-contained mystery — new names, new clues, same method. A preview of the evidence board is public; the rest ships in the book.
